James Gambrell

Chair of the Board

James Gambrell, Ledidi’s Chairman is a six time technology CEO, non-executive & Chair with three decades of scaling, turning around, and exiting software and sports media-tech companies across Europe, North America, and Asia. A former investment banker and finance executive, he is a UK Chartered Director (CDir) and Canadian Certified Director (ICD.D) and holds a Doctorate (ISM – Paris), an MBA (Baylor), and a BSc (State University of NY).

Bjørn Stray

Board Member

Bjørn Stray is a Norwegian venture capital investor and co-founder of Northzone (established 1996), one of Europe’s leading venture capital firms, whose portfolio has included companies such as Spotify, iZettle and Klarna. His primary areas of investment focus have been SaaS, consumer internet, e-commerce and infrastructure. Prior to Northzone he worked at McKinsey & Company and in investment banking. He holds an MSc in business administration/economics from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and serves on the boards of several Norwegian technology companies, including Intility AS and Ledidi AS.

Helge Lund

Board Member

Helge Lund is Chair of the Board of the global fertilizer group Yara International, Operating Advisor at the investment firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice and Chair of the Board of Inkerman AS. He is also a board member of Belron, Aars AS and P/F Tjaldur. He has extensive executive and board experience from large multinational companies in regulated industries. He served as Chair of the Board of BP plc from 2019 to 2025 and as Chair of the Board of the global healthcare company Novo Nordisk A/S from 2018 to 2025.

He was previously CEO of BG Group (2015–2016), President and CEO of Statoil/Equinor (2004–2014) and President and CEO of Aker Kværner (2002–2004), and earlier held executive positions at Aker RGI and Hafslund Nycomed. Earlier in his career he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company and a political adviser to the Conservative Party’s parliamentary group in the Norwegian Storting. He has served as a non-executive director of Nokia (2011–2014) and Schlumberger (2016–2018). He holds an MA in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and an MBA from INSEAD.

Ivar Sjaastad

Board Member & Chief Science Officer

Ivar Sjaastad is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology and holds a PhD from the University of Oslo in experimental cardiology. He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Oslo and a research group leader and senior consultant at Oslo University Hospital. Over a long career in medical research he has been principal investigator or participant in numerous basic-to-clinical research projects within cardiology, rheumatology, pharmacology, imaging and molecular biology, and he has successfully established start-up companies, including in software. As Chief Science Officer he leads Ledidi’s scientific team and ensures all aspects of the company’s activities meet high scientific standards.

Ketil Sandhaug

Board Member

Ketil Sandhaug is a private investor and co-founder of the Geomatikk Group. He holds an MBA and post-graduate studies from the Norwegian School of Economics (1989/1990).

Kristoffer Watten Brudvik

Board Member & Co-founder

Kristoffer Watten Brudvik is a medical doctor and one of the academic surgeons who co-founded Ledidi. He is a consultant surgeon in the Department of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery at Oslo University Hospital. He holds a PhD from the University of Oslo (2012) and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2014. His research has primarily focused on tumor biology and tumor immunology in patients with stage IV colorectal cancer, particularly those with liver metastases, with a focus on understanding tumor biology in the surgical setting to better identify patients who may benefit from advanced surgical treatment. He is an active clinical researcher with more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, and cancer biology, and brings first-hand insight into the needs of clinical researchers to the Board.
